Wear and Tear

In this project, we work with Construction Health and Safety New Zealand to see what industrial design can do to reduce the health and safety impacts of working in the building trades.
I work alongside carpenters to identify what is needed to change to avoid wear and tear.

Brief
The framing gun is the biggest and heaviest tool that carpenters use and carry around on a daily basis. Though there are not many products on the market to take care of this. The injury that comes from using the framing gun and storing it often goes unnoticed and is said to be "insignificant" amongst others. Acknowledging this,  FrameMate.  is born with the sole purpose of looking after this problem, designing products for the short- and long-term injuries caused by framing guns.
